If you experience:

  1. Concentrated redness on your breasts, particularly one side or section more than the other portions of your breast
  2. Increased pain with breastfeeding, whether at the nipple itself or general tenderness on one breast compared with the other
  3. Shaking chills
  4. Elevated temperature over 100.0 degrees F
