If you were on medications during your pregnancy, these are often safe to use while breast feeding. Occasionally doses need to be changes in the postpartum period based on how you are feeling or physiologic changes that occur. A typical example is thyroid medications, often doses are higher in pregnancy and will be lowered after the thyroid hormones levels are evaluated during your postpartum visit. You should discuss with any of the providers in the practice before delivery to insure your understanding of the postpartum plan for your medication.
